All quiet was the night

Thoughts in mind taking flight

The very first of 'him' comes across

Will he win or lose the toss?

Would he bat on number 4?

Or be the finisher on the floor?

Ashwin or Bhuvneshwar first,

or Umesh to quench the thirst?

Would he wear a helmet every ball?

Or a cap to fight the bowler's brawl?

With Raina to his right and Kohli to the left,

Assisting him to scare a batsman to his cleft!

Not every strategy of his proves to be sublime,

People start blaming as if he's committed a crime

But then he comes back and becomes a cyclone;

Now to humiliation, who is prone?

The captain of India, super cool!

At home he wipes Ziva's drool

So dedicated, he refused a break

Said everything else can wait for country's sake.

If him, the BCCI want to sack,

No shit accepted; we'll fight them back!

We'll always love him from the bottom of our hearts

The ones who hoot for him right from the start.

Captain, O Captain just be with our team

Fulfill the goals of which you dream.

You are the best player India has had

and to have seen you playing makes us glad.

We don't want our Captain Cool to retire any soon,

We don't want to give up god's own boon.
